Application:

Introduction of an automated inspection retrofit kit to existing semiconductor wafer probing tools for the inspection of bumped wafers.

Challenge:

The size of the 20X optics, lighting and camera had to fit into an existing bridge that could easily be installed above the semiconductor wafer.

Navitar Solution:

Navitar provided a modified version of our Precise Eye fixed optical system. We reduced the outside diameter of the metal housing from 25mm down to 22mm and integrated a 10X objective, a first surface mirror to create a right angle, a red LED for illumination, and a board level camera. This enabled the customer to outsource the manufacturing and provide their customers with an upgraded, reliable inspection solution at a minimal price.
